Laundry pods pose serious threat to children.

Steven Hutchinson

Recent reports have highlighted the dangers that laundry pods pose to kids, such as coma, trouble breathing, heart problems, and even death. Kids swallowing laundry pods has led to a skyrocketing number of poison cases in the ER--30 calls a day, which is about one call every 45 minutes. People don't realize how toxic these highly concentrated laundry packets are," said Dr. Marcel J. Casavant, "it isn't worth the risk when there is a safer and effective alternative available." This is not a recent problem. Between 2012 and 2013, there were 17,230 reports of children aged 6 and younger who had swallowed or inhaled the pods. In 2015, Consumer Reports made the decision to exclude laundry pods from their list of recommended laundry detergents due to these risks.

Celebrate #EarthDay with 5 cool facts about the only home we currently have in the Universe.

Steven Hutchinson

Whatever your belief about how we came to live on this planet, we're fortunate to be able to call Earth home. Here are 5 cool facts that you may not have known about our home:

1. Hang on! We're cruising around the Sun at the breakneck speed of about 67,000 miles per hour.

2. Even at that speed, it takes us 365 days to go around the big fiery ball since it is 93 million miles away. Fortunately, that's just the right distance--the Goldilocks habitable zone--any closer, and we burn up; any further, and we freeze. Whew!

3. In addition, depending on where you're currently standing on the planet, you could be spinning at up to 1,000 mph (at the equator; standing still at the poles). Good luck holding on to a merry-go-round at that speed.

4. We just moved in. The Earth is about 4.54 billion years old, but our ancestors only unpacked their boxes about 200,000 years ago, and they only started hanging out in a civilization about 6,000 years ago.

5. Scientist believe there may be 40 billion other habitable planets in the Universe. Don't start making travel plans, however; the nearest, Kapteyn-b, is 12.8 light years away--that's over 76 trillion miles away! And who knows whether the inhabitants already there would appreciate us dropping in? Better phone ahead.

In the meantime, let's enjoy and care for this big blue ball hurtling us through the void of space.

Keep your activewear looking great and performing as hard as you do.

Steven Hutchinson

Your expensive activewear helps you perform at your best and look good while you're doing it. Unfortunately, all that exercise results in sweat, dead skin cells, and oils from your body that are absorbed by the fabric causing them to stink and irritate your skin. But you can't just wash the high-performance fabrics with ordinary laundry products. These contain sodium laurel sulfate (SLS), dyes, and chlorine bleach, which weaken the fibers, destroy the wicking and anti-bacterial capabilities, and dull the colors. These products not only don't remove the bacteria and odors, they make matters worse by coating the fabric and trapping scum in the fibers--even after you wash, the odor-causing bacteria remains.

The all-natural truSheet not only safely cleans your activewear so that it maintains its beauty and wicking and antibacterial capabilities, but the it also continuously treats the garments with every wash to prevent bacteria and odors.

Pre-treat any stains by rubbing with the truSheet, toss it all into the washer along with the truSheet, and then transfer everything into the dryer and dry on low temperature. Perform at your best and look and smell good doing it.
